If you are a government agency doing business with ICE will help you meet your
REQUIRED annual HUBZone goal
If you are a large business that contracts with the government for large
contracts (over $500,000), you MUST create a subcontracting plan reflecting
HUBZone firm participation. Including ICE as a subcontractor factors
into your companys Past Performance analysis on future
contracting actions. In short doing business with ICE will help your business
to be considered favorably for large contracts in the future !!
What is the HUBZone program?
It provides federal contracting assistance for qualified small businesses
located in qualified HUBZones to:
Increase employment opportunities
Stimulate capital investment
Empower communities through economic leveraging
As of October 1, 2000, ALL Federal agencies are subject to annual HUBZone
fiscal year goals.
The government-wide goals are:
2001 2%
2002 2.5%
2003 3% and each year thereafter
Assuming historic patterns, this means that by 2003 the HUBZone program should
account for about $6 billion.
How does ICE qualify as a HUBZone concern?
ICE has invested in a manufacturing facility in Tazewell, Virgina. Tazewell is
located in a qualified HUBZone county. Specifically:
Household income is less than 80% of the non-metropolitan state level
Unemployment rate that is not less than 140% of the state-wide average
Now ICE and all of its interests are qualified in the HUBZone Program
